Hours, admission, location and tips for touring Toronto's castle

Opening Hours

Casa Loma is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last admission at 4:00 p.m. The castle closes at 1:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve (December 24) and is closed on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year's Day (January 1).

Admission

Regular admission rates apply for touring the castle. Note that regular admission rates do not apply during The National Ballet School's annual Sugar Plum Fair, held each November. For the most current admission prices and special event rates, please see the Events & Admission page.

Location

Casa Loma is located at 1 Austin Terrace, Toronto, Ontario, on Davenport Hill. It is one of Toronto's most recognizable landmarks, set within its own gardens and grounds.

What to See

A walk through the castle covering three stories, two towers, 98 rooms, the basement, tunnel and stables takes about two hours and covers about a mile and a quarter. Highlights include:

Gardens

The Casa Loma Gardens are open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily from May to the end of October and are included with your admission. The gardens and greenhouses were a source of great pride for Sir Henry, who loved size, colour and good things to eat.

Tips for Your Visit

  • Allow at least two hours to see the whole castle and grounds.
  • Wear comfortable shoes — the tour covers about a mile and a quarter.
  • Children love the tunnel, which leads to the stables and "dungeons."
  • Check the events page for special exhibitions and seasonal events.
